a glamping we will go

For family pictures this year I wanted something that represented where our family is at at this time in life..and every time I thought about a scene.. story time before bed came to mind and  I discovered this thing called glamping which totally makes me laugh because I love being outside and my parents LOVE TO camp..me not so much.. I love fresh air I love stars and smores.. and running through fields but the packing, fishing, hiking, dirt, bugs ..not really my thing.
so glamping just made me laugh and I knew I had to do it.

It was fun to see wendy and tyler { blue lily photography }again for our pictures I always know our session will be fun and high energy... luckily our photos turned out amazing despite their camera literally breaking 5 minutes before our pictures..the thunderstorm and the bajillion mosquitos...

I feel like their work isn't just family pictures it's true art..and my pictures always mean so much to me. If you want amazing pictures I recommend them so much. And they travel to your city.. so go now and check out their blog.. I promise you you'll be hooked.

Seeing these happy pictures of my kids each day reminds me of what's important. Taking a moment to read my kids a story. thanks again my fab nomadic friends.
And hug them and hold them as much as I can before they get big ;(
 no more growing guys!

utah festivities

Cacias house all painted..her blog shows the transformation..this house guys was so beat down and needed love so bad..they have literally turned it upside down..it looks awesome! for a house form the 40's. the house belongs to my grandpa and its located right next to trolly square in downtown salt lake..such a super fun place to live. there stuff going on all the time..this is also the house I grew up in until I was about 5.

it's my birthday and I'm so excited! i love her face in this one

 were bff's
evia and coco sharing the butterfly book

So before the wedding we had to do lots ...but we squeezed in a couple fun events like evias 2nd birthday. check out that cake..my sister rocks...I got evia some bedding for her big girl room and when she saw it she screamed OWLS YAY! sooo sweet i just love that girl. shes just like her aunt bree. loves sparklies and girlie stuff.. I see many a fun outing in our futures little one.

mequettes wedding and our girls road trip

My little sister Mequette got married this week to sweet Jenkin White.

Brandon had to work...I know so sucky they were training all of the traders for a new program..and they had flown people from Houston up to Calgary to learn..so it was kindve a big deal..so he made a movie for them to say sorry which i will post later but anyways.. he said hed stay home with the boys while I just went with coco.. so thanks everyone who chipped in to watch them half days until Brandon got home..It was such a good break for me..One baby is so awesome ..I don't feel like I'm constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure everyone is in eyesight. and for everyone out there road trips one on one with your kids rock..it was so nice to give her all the attention. And I think she enjoyed being with her mommy. anyways to start off the long list of fun stuff we did here are some pics of the cute couple..
congrats guys I sure love you both.

Oh and arn't their rain pictures awesome!  And her dress makes me drool. Thank heavens for a different dress than the traditional a line with beads..Sorry if you had that dress but I love to see ones that look different. I'm opinionated about weddings. One of the few things I will really speak my mind on.
Oh..If anyone in logan utah needs a photographer aya photography..is off the hook amazing..that girl knows her lighting. Plus she was just super fun to hang out with... I have this bond with photographers we just happen to be friends at events like this..maybe I'm drawn to there flashy lights.

Trying something new

I'm always looking for ways to make my shop unique..and not be like all the other rosette headband people on etsy.  Cause I started off that way.. and lets face it thats how you start.. you get ideas from others.. like my event teacher always said nothing is almost ever an original idea.. you learn things from others and tweak it to become your own.. and as you get more practice thats when the true creating begins.. I feel like I'm finally getting to that point.. where my shop is established enough I can start to take some risks.

I don't want to just make headbands and clips.. I want to do stuff that has some more meaning..original pieces..collections.. pieces for people that have big lifetime events happening.. I want to be a part of that..and im trying to stretch myself.. I saw these cuffs.. I almost never wear braclets but these spoke to me as being something different.. how about we try a new medium.. something more modern instead of frilly they also reminded me of my best friend.. she loves cuffs.. And I'm trying to appeal to a larger range of people.

So after my orders were done tonight and my kids were asleep the creating process began.. And I truly fell in love with the asthetic the texture of frayed folds against the smooth steel cuff.. I loved the contrast... I also didn't make one in pink..usually every creative piece I make has some warm color in it.. i tried going a different way with these...still did a yellow one because mustard is flying off the shelves! I like them quirky.. they remind me of glee a little bit...and it was fun to make something new.
