Why I like Obama...

I am of the opinion that America is struggling and for the first time in my life it scares me to be an American. I'm greatful I live in Canada. I think that Obama can help make universal healthcare a reality someday. If I wasnt living in Canada when I had my boys It would've cost us a fortune. C section- Twins- NICU. It feels so good to go to the hopspital anytime I need to and know that its not going to cost me anything. I'm not afraid to be healthy. So many families have crazy health problems and they shouldnt have to worry about how to pay medical bills at the same time as the trials they are going through. I feel deeply about this having had my own family go through it twice. I also think his education policies are much better. Getting kids into colleges and making it affordable. I think with a democratic senate having a democratic leader- things would actually get passed and the wheels of motion would get going. I find it interesting his campaign motto is Change we need- it surley strikes a cord with americans. Anywyas thats how i feel about this whole thing.. waiting for my absentee ballot that probabally won' t matter. Stupid people that vote soley on the fact that Mccain is republican. I'm not a member of either party. I decide whats important to me and vote accordingly. Attatched is the snl skit from the vp debate. Enjoy...

  1. I totally hear you! I'm pretty much voting for the Educational and Economical Aspects~ GO OBAMA. I'm a little worried about the Heath Care though. Mindy said thats one reason she's glad she came to America- because even though its less affordable, it is better because the doctors are well paid and well trained. She said she was ok going in for check ups but wouldn't want to have anything serious happen because she wouldn't trust the doctors. Oh well...OBAMA ALL THE WAY! (On the flip side, I want kids to recieve the heath care they so desperately need and don't recieve) McCain's heath plan is retarded and not feasible

  2. In canadian health care the general practitioners are paid less than specialists. If anything is ever really wrong with you you go see them and they are highly skilled and trained. In fact anyone coming from foreign countries has to recertify in Canada to be a doctor. I've had amazingly wonderful doctors perform my c section and help people up here. I would trust them completley. The only problem we have is a lack of family doctors- everyone wants to be a specialist because its expensive to open a practice. So waiting times are longer. But id rather have to wait a little longer than pay astronomical amounts of money. Very interesting ye ole healthcare system.

  3. I don't think that either party's plan for health care are feasible. I agree that something needs to change I don't understand why it costs us 500 almost 600 to for vaccines that I have to get for my child (cost something? yes. that much though? I don't know about that!) Without inssurance the three hospital "visits" and doctor visits we have bills up to $20,000 and possibly more. With insurrance we have paid over 5,000 however our maximum out of pocket pay is only 2,500 but because an inssurance has the right to tell me that my miscarriage is an abortion and that I have to pay EVERYTHING I not only had to go through it I also have to pay 2,000 more. That isn't money we have just sitting around and we saddly are on the lower spectrum of hospital bills so I REALLY agree that something needs to change. I'm torn between things on both sides but I don't always see that path they are planning to fix them I don't really like either one at all. Obama sounds great on a lot of things but has some patriotic issues and I'm not talking past I'm talking now and dances around explaining his plans and Mcain is like a spoiled little boy in a grown man outfit, I agree on many things he says too but I'm not sure he is going to change anything he says he can. I just want to make the right choice.
