{one persons junk is anothers treasure...}

Ok so I have an idea for an enrichment activity-but I want some feedback so please tell me what you think and how you'd go about doing this. I thought about everyone bringing stuff they don't use anymore -stuff that's in pretty good shape-but they just don't want -and we all meet in one place and swap items and talk about redoing them and ideas you could use them for- kind've an upcycling enrichment- does that sound fun- how would you do it? where?{is it bad to do that in the church?} any other ideas. I'm kind've into upcycling and I think this would be super fun!

  1. great idea, I love the aspect of discussing how to redo things. We did do this when I was enrichment leader in Edmonton, just use the primary or young womens room, set table up around the perimeter, and anything that doesn't get claimed takes a ride to the sally ann shop

  2. We did that with the young women in our ward with clothes we didn't wear anymore. We brought all our old clothes that we didn't wear and traded them. It was awesome.

  3. Yeah - it's totally fine to do in the church. We did a baby item exchange with it too. I think you have a great idea going. I don't know how to make it better...

  4. We did this a couple of times in our last ward. They had tables set up in half of the gym and anybody could bring stuff they wanted to get rid of. We had a RS dinner and afterward people could go and look at their pleasure. There was a lot of really old things, ie clothes, books, appliances. If you want specific things I would say so. If you are just wanting to people dejunk their house then I would say bring whatever.
