Maverick and Goose

Bree officially does the best birthday presents....ever..

For my 30th she outdid herself, flight lessons in a Cessna C-172. So on the 4th I actually got to fly the plane. Denton and I drove out to Springbank and met our co-pilot Chris.

Chris did all the technical stuff like make sure everything worked  talked to the tower for permission to go onto the runway and take off. He showed me stuff that he was doing but mostly I was just glad he knew what he was doing. I think Bree was even happier he was helping me.

So once we were out of the airport vicinity out around Brag Creek he let me take control. It is very cool to be able to go up and down left or right when ever you want. Where we went we didnt need roads.

Denton had head phones that did not work and he narrated the video for Bree. Since she was getting ready for the 4th of July party and is kinda scared ok freakishly crazy paranoid even in big airplanes she got Denton to go for her and to promise at least 10 good pictures and good video. He took his duties very seriously as you can tell in the picture, one of the 1o:

I can see why the government wants you to have a lot of hours practice before they just let you out there. I got a little lost after a few turns so when it came time to go back to the airport Chris had to show the way.

But we made it back and if only we had a couple hundred thousand dollars we could fly all the time. I'm saving my pennies. It would sure make trips to Utah faster and easier to do!

New for my christmas list: cessna C-172

New Toys

It's fun to watch my boys grow and get personalities. They are starting to show that they like certain things.

Harrison kinda started it, he will sometimes carry around his blanket from room to room. But they still didn't have that sense of "having" a toy. If Greyson pulled a toy away Harrison would just grab something else and move on.

But lately they have shown more that they own stuff.

So at Walmart I wanted to get them a prize. We grabbed a few things that were in the price range we were looking at and held them out for Harrison, he pushed away the toy camera and the toy screwdriver (though it didn't look much like a real one) but he liked the toy cell phone. Which reminded us of all the times he wanted to play with our real phones and has hung up on Grammy Patty.

Greyson has come to love cars. Uncle Barrett gave him a red Ferrari and we could barely pry it from his hands so he could eat. When we are getting into the car he says "vroom vroom" and when we read car and driver together he points to the cars and says "vroom vroom." So it was no wonder that Greyson wanted a truck, a nice tough one that he can throw and push and take outside in the dirt and vroom all over.
And Harrison likes texting his friend Nixon on his new phone, you'll notice that the phone is angled away so we cant read. I imagine this is what he was writing "dude new phone is so cool! You should come over tomorrow to watch treehouse and eat fruit snacks."

So don't judge him because he has three different phones and will probably know how to use a cell phone better than both of us just as soon as we will let him play with our phones.

Enjoy the new toys boys. Just remember when I'm old and don't know how to use facebook 5.0 to be nice to me.

My dad has said it many times and I think I'll be saying it a few myself. I wish I was my own kid. They are just barely 9 months old and they have been to Puerto Plata and they are driving BMW's. Grandpa Joel might have helped them out alot and is probably more excited about the cars than they are yet. But I'm sure when their legs reach the floor and they can push themselves around they'll have tons of fun. We might just drop them off to play with grandpa and they can do laps in their beemers.

First rule of the BMW, no driving to nursery and causing a kerfuffle while picking up all the chicks.
Second rule: don't park next to big wheels, they'll just scratch the paint.

Harrison

The boys like playing together. Somehow it always seems to be Harrison on the bottom of the pile. He doesn't seem to mind usually and he's given Greyson a few kicks to the head to keep it even. That is why we like the exersaucers, they can play and see eachother but they don't wrestle. Harrison really likes to bounce too so this helps save us from having to bounce him on our knee's allday. He's getting big too.

Greyson

So looks like we have another puzzle lover in the family. Either that or Greyson just liked the colors on the box.
Greyson likes standing up on everything. We're still waiting for the day he just lets go and starts walking everywhere. He's getting so big!

Christmas

Mom alway makes Christmas fun. So it's neat to see that she liked it just as much when she was little.

Thanks for great Christmas' mom.

Dad always made sure we had fun Christmases. He's driven us to Idaho tons of times and taken us to Arizona, Victoria, Puna Cana and for this Christmas Puerto Plata. We've even had a couple in Calgary, nice moustache dad.

Christmas Tree

Bree decorating 2007

Bree decorating 2008

What a difference a year makes new house and the boys are asleep upstairs instead of hanging on for a ride. Bree broke her rule by decorating before thanksgiving, but with snow on the ground outside and christmas lights going on houses around the neighborhood she got excited.
