stampede kids day

stampede kids day is awesome if you get there before 9 you get in free- and there's tons of cool activities for kids to do. Brandon had to work it this year so I decided to brave it alone...and for an all day trip wher eyou take the train to get there, it was a big deal for me, I wanted to prove to myself i could do it alone with all three and have fun. Harrison is doing great at learning safety rules and staying by me is so much easier than last year! He's doing amazing I'm so proud of how hard he works every day. Greyson as always was my little helper and hauled the wagon around all day I'm amazed at how strong that kid is, and everyone stopped me to say how cute coco looked in her boots and lil fascinator they even asked for one for the stampede 100 year time capsule!
 twin brover tatoos
 greyson doing blue steel!
 this was awesome they got to meet mike the knight.. greyson loves him, hes very into knights right now.Harrison was just as thrilled- and then asked me mom? where the big lightning mqueen?( don't worry buddy your moms a disney buff ) we'll be there soon christmas is coming. They also saw the bmo bear- it was blue and harrison said mom its grumpy!...aka care bears- he has a great memory we've only seen that show maybe twice!
 the centennial wall- they had kids paint tiles and then are making a mosaic for downtown- how cool is that!
 in their stampede getup!- I love dressing up my kids!
tuckered out

 this was supposed to show our fascinators but the lady cut us off at the head ;(
 2 down one to go!

 greyson constantly asks about grandma mona and peggy and susans houses- he saw this tractor and thought we were there! He loves idaho! and all the fun toys to ride on.
Long HOT HOT day, but a lot of good memories. And I DID IT!
It's getting easier and funner!

My little girl

I think this more accurately describes.. the love i have for my daughter, and how much joy she has brought into my life since she was born. She's my miracle, came at just the right time, and I have no words to express my love..so pictures and music can show her my heart.... love you baby girl...happy birthday.

catch the dots

I painted a chandelier yesterday and its hanging off one of the curtain rods to dry..I wake up this morning to squeals of delight....MOMMMY CATCH THE DOTS! PRETTY Catch it Harrison.... Catch it greyson! They were both trying to catch the prism rainbows from the light. It warmed my heart..because I remember being a kid and loving when my grandmas chandelier did the same thing and Id sit and watch for hours. It also reminded me of watching pollyana as a kid at my grandmas house..My love for Hailey Mills runs strong. Might have to see if I can download the old school parent trap. I love when they switch places. I I always wanted a twin. HOW fun is it that I get to raise them.

our moms...

Are so wonderful.{ don't you love the 80's hair!}
We don't know what we'd do without their love and selflessness and laughter. I now understand what it's like to be a mom and with that comes a whole new understanding and love so thank you - for loving us

stranger danger...

Well I thought it would be cute if Harrison ever started to like me more than his dad...now I dont know so much. Today I was going to go set up for the seussical event and brought the boys with me---never gonna happen again---Harrison screamed the whole time and wouldnt let me put him down others tried to hold him but only mom was good enough-when ra ra cried greyson gets upset-they feed off each other- so chorusus of screaming boys were all I heard today. Last week I though it was cute- now...I hate it! ahhhh child I love you but I really have to get this done people are coming in 3 hours! I'll probablly look back on this and laugh at my little appendage- but today was very frustrating and I'm already exhausted..Twins are a lot of work some days. And my hanging lanterns are not working the fishing line kept breaking so I'm mega dissapointed I couldnt get them to hang- we'll see if I can figure something out in the next couple hours. I'm still getting a hang of this mom thing.

{Joy} and Love

My sons have brought me a lot of joy this week. They've been so giggly and I feel pure joy when they laugh. They also smile when they see each other come into the room. they are so close already and its neat to see their twin bond develop. We made cookies and took some pictures in frames to grandma and grandpas and Brooke and Mik- also some neighbors for valentines- are the owl plates not cute? I adore them-I need target in canada soo bad! I'm enjoying being a mom. Which is something I never thought I would truly come to terms with. Lets just same I'm not a very motherly type.
They truly make me look differently at life and what's important. Harrison has learned to wave and blow kisses- Greyson can stand by himself and climb up stairs- and they both are becoming more vocal. Its amazing to watch how they learn and how they see the world around them. I stand in awe.
Tonight we hung out with Dafoes for family day a {a holiday in Canada}and had a mario cart tornament- it was major fun. We also just took a drive- something my brandon and I love to do with each other- the best conversations come from us driving together. I love my little family.

{diagnosis...}

So the appointment with the Dr today went awesome. Other than the fact that the elevator was broken with someone inside! So I had to carry both of them up the stairs and ditch my stroller at the bottom- losing socks and shoes on the way. But I'm happy to say that the boys have inner ear infections...ugghhh and thats why we have had throwing up for a month- and also greyson does have a hernia and we are going to talk with a surgeon sometime in the next month. My poor little guys! I'm happy that I finally know whats going on and that I can help them feel better. It's a huge relief knowing what is happening. I can't believe the other doctors missed it completley- I mean really isnt an ear infection easy to see if it's happening? I don't know I'm just mad that they had to be upset longer than necesscary- when i tried everything to get them better. And after having been through this the past month I feel like I deserve a coconut cupcake from crave and some ginger beef from Kam Han. Yay for me not completley losing my mind. I'm excited to get back to normal no puking screaming whining fevers bowel issues runny noses coughs laundry disinfecting changing sheets every day!!! Really I'm so greatful for my family doctor hes awesome!

Me and my sicko's

So the reason I havnt posted a lot these past couple weeks is because there is basically a plague that keeps on recirculating in our house. I never ever imagined that caring for sick babies would be one of the toughest things I've ever gone through. At times I think I'm losing my mind with them both wanting to be held and going from one to the other puking and cleaning them and all there bedding time and time again. Debbie came over and we cleaned everything( my angel) as well as me doing it with my mom(angel) when she came to visit- yet it still is not leaving us. I can't remember the last time I threw up that wasnt involved with being pregnant. Leg aches back aches- and Brandon the antibody genius( he never gets sick) got sick this time- so its mega nasty- I'm tempted to just get a a platic bubble with a can of lysol and years supply of food and just stay in there. I don't know what I'd do without my bathtub this week- its the only thing that seems to make them happy. So I've officially reached my breaking point and I am going to the doctor again.. and hed better find something this time cause I'm not leaving without some drugs! This has to end a month of the flu is not normal!

Multiple blessings...

For christmas Brandon bought me the book multiple blessings by Kate Gosselin and her friend Beth. I've been anticipating this book for long time and was so excited to finally get in my cozy jammies and read it. I can not explain to you how much this book touched me. I feel guilty for ever complaining about having twins and having to take care of them alone during the day. I've been struggling for quite a while now with coming to terms that I'm a mother. I guess I've always had a go get em attitude and expected to be doing somthing different at this point in my life. Finishing school has been always on my mind- feeling like a failure for not being done already- and sadly watching as my friends were graduating and getting jobs- don't get me wrong I wouldnt trade moving to canada for anything but sometimes I just wanted to scream- hey I'm smart and educated and I want to finish- they just won't let me. On top of this I still don't know what to do with my life. I'm now a permanent resident of canada and the boys are almost one- making it easier for me to start school again. I'm finishing my degree just to have a degree-( which alone feels like I'm failing again doing it online- but it just makes more sense this way- I just hate taking the easy road) I see how immature that sounds but its truly how I feel. I believe its important but I cant decide the emphasis -unfortunatley you can only pick from 4 majors when you finish online and nothing seems to suit me. I guess I just need to pick something and go with it. I know that what I do will probablly require additional training-man school lasts forever- but it is very important to me to feel sucessful. Like I did it -and I'm good at my talents. Having my boys was a hard adjustment with control- I love being in control of every little thing. I feel a lot like kate in that it wasnt quite what I was planning on happening to me. Like other people are first and what I want is always on the back burner. After reading this book it became apparent to me that it's god's timing. That I'm doing something sucessful. But that I need to do what he wants before I can do what I want. That he loves me and will make sure my prayers are answered-that I need to give and realize god will always give more back to me. In so many ways this book has answered my prayers and helped with my jumbled brain of confusion and heartache. Teaching me to appreciate the little moments and that the answers to life will come . To not worry about my career right now-he'll show me what I need to do- he'll fill my well strengthen me on the hard days and bring me unexplainble joy through my boys. Just work on my school and he'll fill in the gaps. I just need to trust him and relinquish control. I'm greatful for her insight and open honsty. My life will have answers but I need to listen to what he wants and when.

I thought this was important to share...

Recently I've found myslef being worried about what the boys are eating- and worried about them choking. I know it's important to know cpr and the heimlicch maneuver-but I knew I needed a refresher on infants and kids- so here are some 15 second videos to watch- you never know if you'll need it. My mom did it on my sister and it saved her life.

Traveling with twins

I must admit I'm becoming a little nervous for flying with the boys. They are getting mobile and do not like to sit still so a 5 hour plane ride seems scary to me. I really hope the airline lets brandon and i sit together- they usually don't like it when there are 2 lap babies per row- man the things you have to think about with twins...how many diapers do I need to pack- I put a piece of paper on the door and calculate how many they use in a week- this should be entertaining. What do I do for shoes- there food? Do we take the stroller- its huge because it's a double. I think we're going to have to get another snuggly and see if our hotel rents strollers- ireally dont want to take it- that or we need some umbrella strollers that hook together- those are awesome! I want them! I'm a little overwhelmed and I hope I remember everything. It will be interesting keeping them entertained on the plane. I'm excited they get to come - I just hope its not too chaotic. Luckily we have awesome family to help us out.- Anyone have any tips for flying with babies?

My babies arn't babies

Today was a contemplative day for me. My heart is a little empty as are the boys carseats. I woke up and looked into my boys room from across the hall and could hear giggling as the boys were talking to each other from across the room. greyson was standing up-I was excited but at the same time wanted to cry. Where have my little babies gone? I think I've been avoiding thinking about it. They don't fit in there car seats anymore. Its so sad. we bought them new ones a couple days ago. So as a tribute to there babyness I'm posting there old carseats covered in spit up and stickers to keep them entertained- some from aunts-others from ladies in montana who thought they were cute on our road trip to utah- glow in the dark stickers from me- superman ones-from dad.Random people who thought it was a cute idea-there well travled car seats and my best friends. It's so much harder to get out now. I carry one at a time to the car and strap them and then unstrap them and strap them in the stroller- it takes me so much longer to do anything. Hopefully I get the hang of it soon. I can't believe how fast it's gone. I need to hold someones baby. Can I just capture them now sprinkle a little pixie dust on them. It goes too fast.

one of those days..

I'm having one of those days where I just feel crappy about myself. I hate looking at pictures of myself because it reminds me of how much weight baby and non baby weight;( I need to loose. I didnt think it would be this hard to get it off and I'm feeling cruddy about myself. I know I can do better and I'm discouraged. it feels like i just can't find time to exercise like I used to.It helps knowing I'm starting bikini bootcamp this week. I'm waiting for my hair to grow a little bit longer so I can get a total hair makeover- I hate my hair but I can't cut it it's so frustrating. I look so white- I feel so much better when I have some color to my skin. my iron is still so low that i look paler than I ever have before. It just feels like it's been so long since I've felt pretty. sorry if this is depressing. I'm not like this a lot. I just needed to get it out. - oh and on the hair again....I've decided to donate it to locks of love. Something I've always wanted to do but never thought I could. I need a new look. I'm sick of feeling this way!
